What our customers are saying:
This letter is in regard to our recent purchase and installation of an Interlock Roofing System at our home on 7 Shingle Island Lane in North Dartmouth. We experienced a failing asphalt roof after only 14 years! After a bit of research on the internet, we investigated and decided on an Interlock Roofing System. Our salesman Michael Furman was outstanding. He was friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, and very professional and he answered all our questions pertaining to the materials and their installation. He assured us that our concerns on certain roof areas of our Log Home would be addressed and appropriate materials would be used. He was right! We have a beautiful new green Interlock roof that looks amazing with the dark stained logs! Alex and his crew did an outstanding job during the installation and especially paid attention to the details we were initially concerned with. The crew was hard-working, courteous, and always professional. They were very patient in answering ALL our questions about the installation and challenging areas around the Log dormers and multiple skylights. They worked long days showing much tolerance and patience despite all the rain, cold and wind March/early April threw at them! They made sure at each day's end to clean thoroughly and secure the worksite before leaving. Our neighbors have commented on what a great-looking roof it is and the great job the installers did as well. We've even had people drive down our street from the main road upon seeing the roof to comment on its outstanding look. Many of them have been following the progress since its start. We are so pleased with the final results! It is a very attractive, "rich" looking roof and makes our log home look once again like it was just built! We do highly recommend your product and your company to anyone who is considering a new roof. We are looking forward to a future without facing roof replacement again! Thank you for an excellent product and outstanding service from your company.
I am writing this letter to you and the installation crew that installed my Interlock Roof I have on my home. I would like to let you know how delighted and happy I am with my Interlock Roof. It was a pleasure working with you doing business with a company so professional as Interlock Industries, Inc. Everyone I spoke to was so helpful and very informative answering all the questions I had. My existing roof was only six years old when I noticed a brown spot on my kitchen ceiling, I couldn't believe a roof six years old was leaking needing repair so soon. I then began the process of looking for a solution. I was looking for a roof that would withstand the weather conditions in New England. I heard about the Interlock Roof from my friends. I began to read and learn about your product from my friends that had Interlock Industries, Inc. install their Interlock Roof couldn't say enough to me about how pleased they were with your product and how wonderful the company was to work with. I was pretty much sold on product. Then when you came to my home explained how this roof would be installed, the Lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Warranty - I knew this was for me and just what I was looking for. My home looks beautiful and best of all knowing I will not have to roof again makes me very happy with peace of mind. Thanks again especially for the superb service that was given to me. I would highly recommend the Interlock Roofing System to anyone interested in a new roof and never having to roof again.
We have had significant damage due to water leaks inside our house over the past 5-6 years. The reasons behind these leaks were ice dams and icicles. Our house is facing north. It gets minimum or no direct sun exposure most winter months. Repairs were costly. The problem, however, would recur every winter. Our roof was about 15-year old and it was not in a bad shape. We had a contractor installing a reinforcement felt in the area of interest (cost about four thousand dollars labor and material) but failed to correct the issue. After a thorough research, we were left to choose between electrical panels or a metal roof. We opted for the later, for both, safety and aesthetic reasons. We found Interlock Industries through internet-Google- search. We are pleased with our 2 choices (metal roof and Interlock) for the following reasons, with few remarks: Estimate and contract Done properly, in a pressure-free environment. Larry Ebbs understood and executed his role well. Communication and coordination With the central office were excellent (Jennifer Simons) Execution A highly professional crew. Neat, detail-oriented, highly efficient, and courteous workers. Two caveats: The crew who worked on our house was not fluent in English, and communication, when occasionally needed, had to happen over a cell phone. The start was phenomenally fast; completing the job dragged a bit longer. Cost Expensive upfront. About 3 times the cost of a shingle roof; cost will go down to about 2.5x with discounts and incentives. Financing option is available, but the interest rate is relatively high. A " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">tax credit is available since (Interlock) metal roofs are energy efficient. Head Roofer Paul McAllister is outstanding (as a person and as far as quality of work). In addition to the metal roof, Paul and his crew successfully fixed a chronic leak from a small flat roof in the back of the house. This is a leak that we tried to repair at least twice (different contractors) without success. Results \* Functionality: We have had 2 major snow storms this winter, between 12-15 inches of snow each time, comparable to prior years. We are delighted to announce that we have not had any leaks. " title="Ice dams" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Ice dams continued to form, mainly in the northern section of the house (where the insulation, we believe, is imperfect), but they are much smaller in size and fewer in number. No further icicles noted (make sure you don’t stand underneath the roof after a snowy day, as the snow slides off the roof like an avalanche). One downside is the noise caused by the rain drops. This noise is here to stay and will bother some people. \* Appearance: The roof look is outstanding. Sharp and perfect geometry. The color contrasts nicely with the paint. Overall If you live in a snowy region, and you are planning on replacing the roof of your home for functional or aesthetic reasons, or for both, I highly recommend metal roofing. I also recommend metal roofing for new constructions in these areas as well. If you decide to go with a metal roof, Interlock Industries (New England) will meet or exceed your expectations.
Dear Interlock, We are writing to inform you how pleased and satisfied we are with our newly installed roof. It was a big decision to make, and we were nervous at the time, but when our representative Mike Yaniv, explained and demonstrated the installation of the roof, he really made us feel more at ease. Alex, Dimitre and Dennis were the crew that worked on our roof. Not only did they do a very professional job – but they were also very polite, courteous and friendly. The job was completed in three days with very little mess, as Mike had told us at our first meeting. We were very impressed that the roof was done in such a timely fashion. Only half of the roof was finished, and our neighbors had already called to say they really liked the roof. Needless to say, when it was all finished, we received many compliments from our family and friends. We feel we made the right decision to go ahead with Interlock Roof and are glad we won’t have to worry about replacing it ever again. We would recommend this type of roofing and your company to anyone interested in replacing their roof. The roof looks great, and we are very happy!
From our first meeting with Jonathan, who was professional, authentic and knowledgeable about roofing, we've had a wonderful experience with Interlock Roofing. The installation team was clean, courteous and skilled at their job. The best part is snow slides off the roof and no more leaks in the house. Nothing. it was all great. It was great, easy to set up and we love the look of the roof
I can only speak from my experience with Interlock, but their communication, follow-up, installation, and quality have exceeded my expectations of any contractor. My roof is absolutely gorgeous and the talk of the neighborhood. The installers have gone about their work quietly, professionally, and respectfully (cleaning up my yard at the end of each day's work). I highly recommend this product and company to anyone looking to replace their roof with something gorgeous and enduring. This is one of the best decisions I've ever made for my home.
We love our new roof. We get tons of compliments. the slate style really matches the style of our house (built in 1690). Carefree for life. Overall, they did an exceptional job and were organized and professional. There was some slight mis-communication initially and I'm not sure where the link in the chain was broken, but it appeared someone was mis-instructed on which skylight to take out, either that, or he couldn't read the plans, but I'm not sure. In the end they remedied the problem. Sales person was very knowledgeable and friendly, but be prepared for him to overwhelm you with info (not a bad thing). We couldn't be happier with the product quality and look. Highly recommend this. They also offer financing which was helpful for us. see comments above questions 3 & 4 Best roof ever for quality and look
No more problems with moss and lichens, like I had with the " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">asphalt shingles. I am extremely happy with my new Interlock Roofing System and to think it has a lifetime warranty. There have been several rainstorms that last couple of weeks and to me the metal roof had added no additional noise at all. The flat roof is also a welcomed addition. The material quality is tip-notch throughout. A flat roof will normally wear out first; however, this also comes with a lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty. I have been impressed with Interlock from my first awareness at the local home show. I also did investigation through the " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">Better Business Bureau. During all interaction with Interlock, employees have been professional and courteous. The sales presentations were very informative. I was also able to visit half dozen houses locally that had had Interlock Roofing Systems installed. The benefits of the Interlock roof over an asphalt roof are numerous. In these days of rising energy costs and the high price of fuel, the expected energy savings are welcome. I will also be able to take advantage of the energy credit on my taxes this year. The fact that the ">roofing material deflects the heat versus absorbing it will make the house cooler during the summer months. Working with the installation team of Finn and Alex was a delight. The attention they gave to making sure things were done right was greatly appreciated. From the moment they arrived in the morning, till they went home at night, they were constantly working. During the installation period, there were several rainstorms. Alex and Finn always made sure they had things buttoned up before the storm started. We were lucky enough to get a couple of good days and they took advantage of them by working between 10 and 11 hours those days. If I saw anything that I did not like, it was quickly addressed or the explanation was given why it had to be done that way. The answer was always acceptable to me. They took the time to help me understand the various installation tasks. The longevity of Finn and Alex’s careers with Interlock are testimony to Interlock as a company, their product knowledge and experience levels, and work quality. I would highly recommend Interlock Industries roofs to others.
My wife and I met Mike Furman at the Home Show in Foxboro this past winter. I had asked about the system in other years but got so turned off by the salesperson I never stayed to talk. This year was the first time we’ve seen Mike. We started to talk with him and were readily put at ease. We were so comfortable talking with Mike that we agreed to have him come to our home and really talk business. Mike has a wonderful way of explaining the Interlock system. Not only is he intelligent and professional, but he is also patient. He never talked down to us or over our heads. He was always neatly dressed but not in a stuffy business suit, someone you could relate to. The roofing crew led by Bakha, Alex (a great craftsman!) and the rest were a pleasure to deal with. They were very polite and accommodating. They worked some very hard, long hours to get the job done. They had to work around New England’s typical weather: sun, rain, " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">hail, snow and wind. The weather delayed them a little, but they were soon done with the job. They cleaned up each night before they left, so we never had to worry about getting nails in our car tires. The roof, it’s beautiful! It complements the style and design of our house. My wife said she had never looked at our roof much before, but now she stops in the driveway to admire it. Our biggest concern about it being noisy in the rain was taken care of. Mike was right! You really don’t hear the rain any more than before. About four years ago, a friend of mine, George, from Berkley, MA, had gotten a metal roof. He loved it and always talked well about it. He has been answering my questions about it over the years and invited my wife and me to see it before we bought it. His is the Interlock system too. Since I’ve been talking to George for the past four years about your roofing system, I believe he should be given a “finders fee.” Thank you.
I wanted to let you know how happy my wife and I are with our new Interlock roof and the quality of the installation work. The installers presented themselves in a very professional manner. They took great pride in their job and worked on our home as if it was their own. At the end of the day, they always cleaned up after themselves and never inconvenienced my family. They truly were a wonderful crew! The roof looks fantastic. It is much sharper and cleaner looking than our old roof. Since it was completed, we have had several hard rainstorms. The roof performed very well. One of our initial concerns was if rain hitting this new roof would be louder than our old. On those stormy nights, our fears were quickly put to rest. There was no difference in sound compared to our old roof. Then, the night before Thanksgiving, we had a snowstorm. Thanksgiving Day was nice and sunny, and our house was the only one with no snow on the roof. The Interlock roof is, by far, the best home improvement project I have undertaken; it is wonderful knowing I will never have to worry about my roof again. Thanks for the great product and service.
I just had a brand new Dark Grey Metal Roof by INTERLOCK installed. I found everyone that I dealt with from Jonathan Brown in sales and Jennifer Simons in the office and to the crew that did an excellent job ( they were very hard workers)! I am pleased with the outcome of the roof. It looks wonderful, I would highly recommend interlock to anyone who Is looking for a quality roof and excellent and professional installation.
The work was both of excellent quality and done on time. The worksite was left exceptionally clean. I would recommend Interlock Roofing to anyone looking for a great product and great service.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Surfside
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Surfside, Massachusetts. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Surfside.
Do metal roofs handle Surfside's snow and ice buildup?
Yes, metal roofs excel in snow climates like Surfside, which receives about 47 cm of snow annually and experiences roughly 25 freeze-thaw cycles per year. Aluminum's smooth surface sheds snow and ice more readily than asphalt, reducing ice dam formation that traps water under shingles. Four-way interlocking panels create a tight seal that prevents water penetration during freeze-thaw swings. You can add snow guards if desired to control roof slides, but the panel system itself handles the moisture cycling that degrades asphalt over time.
Why doesn't aluminum rust in salty coastal air like Surfside's?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—rust is iron oxide. Instead, aluminum naturally forms a transparent oxide layer that protects the metal underneath; if scratched, this layer self-heals. Interlock roofing uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating applied to both sides, providing dual defense in salt-air environments. Steel roofing rusts at the cut edges and fasteners within years of exposure to coastal salt spray. This material science advantage is why Interlock panels install from coastal homes to Antarctica.
What's the hail rating on Interlock metal roofing, and could it lower my insurance?
Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—with warranty coverage for hailstone perforations up to 1.5 inches. The non-combustible aluminum construction and impact resilience may qualify you for homeowner's insurance discounts; contact your insurer with the UL listing (33876) and ICC-ES report (ESR-1790). While Surfside averages about 3,124 hours of sunshine annually with moderate storm activity, the Class 4 rating ensures you're protected against the full spectrum of hail events, giving you peace of mind and potential premium reductions.
What warranty comes with Interlock metal roofing?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's one-time transferable to the next owner for 50 years from completion, adding significant resale appeal. The Alunar coating carries a separate 30-year warranty against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214 measured). Unlike asphalt shingles requiring replacement every 15–20 years, this is genuinely the last roof you install—backed by a manufacturer operating since 1998 with local service from Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc. since 1999.
Can metal roofing handle Surfside's coastal wind gusts?
Absolutely. Surfside experiences typical daily-max winds around 37 km/h with gusts reaching 141 km/h. Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed per specification. Four-way interlocking design locks each panel to its neighbors, distributing wind load across the entire roof system rather than relying on fasteners alone. This redundancy is why metal roofing outperforms asphalt in hurricane and nor'easter zones. The ICC-ES evaluation (ESR-1790) confirms compliance with IBC/IRC wind codes, so your installation meets current Nantucket County requirements.
Do I need to reinforce my roof frame for a metal roof?
No structural reinforcement is needed, even for the heavier profiles. The Mediterranean Tile installs at only 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—while the Shingle is just 0.41 lb/sq ft. Most existing roof frames easily support aluminum's minimal load. This lightweight characteristic lets Interlock install over your existing asphalt roof, eliminating costly tear-off labor and disposal fees. Surfside's freeze-thaw environment (about 25 cycles per year) stresses existing structures; upgrading to a lighter metal roof actually reduces long-term structural stress compared to adding heavy slate or tile.
Will a metal roof help cool my home in summer?
Yes. energy-efficient Interlock colors achieve initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 with thermal emissivity of 0.84, reflecting heat that asphalt absorbs. Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms measurable cooling benefits. Over Surfside's roughly 3,124 annual sunshine hours, reflective coatings reduce attic and interior temperatures compared to dark asphalt shingles, lowering air-conditioning demand. The Alunar finish on both panel sides maintains reflectance durability. While New England summers are mild, the energy savings compound year after year—another reason this becomes your last roof investment.
Does heavy rainfall cause leaks in metal roofing?
No. Surfside receives about 1,160 mm of rain annually, and four-way interlocking panels are engineered to shed continuous water without pooling or leakage. The overlap design and seamed construction create a watershed system; fasteners are hidden under the standing-seam portions, never exposed to weather. Installation over solid deck with underlayment (same as asphalt) prevents water from finding pathways into the home. ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliance confirms the roof meets IBC/IRC water management standards. Many homeowners worry metal roofing leaks; the interlocking system and proper installation make water intrusion virtually impossible.
How much maintenance does an Interlock metal roof need?
Minimal. Unlike asphalt shingles requiring regular inspection and repairs, wood shakes prone to rot and splitting, or tile cracking in freeze-thaw cycles like Surfside's (about 25 per year), aluminum roofing is essentially maintenance-free. The 30-year Alunar coating resists chalking and fading without repainting. Occasional rinsing removes salt spray residue in coastal areas, but no sealing, re-nailing, or moss treatment is needed. CALGreen verification confirms reduced-maintenance status. The transferable 50-year warranty (next owner) reflects how little upkeep is required—it's one reason The Guardian covers splitting, curling, and impact loss across decades.
Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt?
Over the roof's life, yes. Metal roofing costs more initially but lasts 40–50+ years versus asphalt's 15–20, eliminating multiple replacements and tear-off labor. In Surfside's harsh climate—1,160 mm rain, 47 cm snow, 25 freeze-thaw days annually—asphalt degrades faster, while aluminum thrives. The Guardian lifetime warranty and 50-year transferability add resale value and buyer confidence. Interlock's current promotion (no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation) lowers entry cost. Calculate the full ownership cycle: one aluminum roof versus two or three asphalt roofs plus landfill fees, and aluminum becomes the smarter investment.
Is a metal roof a good choice for Surfside’s climate?
Yes. Surfside averages about 47 cm of snow, 1160 mm of rain, roughly 25 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 141 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
