Review: July 21, 2008

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

Review: April 20, 2009

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Brentwood

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Brentwood, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Brentwood.

Will a metal roof hold up through New York winters with all the freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes. Aluminum expands and contracts with temperature swings, but its oxide layer self-heals when scratched—it cannot rust or degrade from the approximately 54 freeze-thaw days Brentwood experiences annually. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading, meaning it resists salt spray and moisture penetration that accelerate traditional material breakdown during freeze cycles. Asphalt becomes brittle in cold; aluminum flexes and recovers.

How does a metal roof perform under Brentwood's snow load?

Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are engineered to resist 120 mph winds when installed to spec, providing the structural integrity needed for about 58 cm of annual snow. The lightweight design—Shingle profiles at 0.41 lb/sq ft—means snow doesn't overload your home. Snow slides cleanly off the smooth metal surface rather than saturating into seams. Optional snow guards prevent sudden dumps. Unlike asphalt, which absorbs moisture and ice-dams, metal sheds precipitation quickly.

With 1,220 mm of rain yearly in Brentwood, how watertight is an interlocking metal roof?

The four-way interlocking panels create an overlapped seal that sheds water downward; no fasteners penetrate the top surface. ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 confirms compliance with IBC/IRC codes for water management. Installed over solid decking and underlayment (standard practice), the system handles heavy rainfall without leak risk. Metal channels water away rather than absorbing it like asphalt. When combined with proper gutter maintenance, interlocking panels are among the most reliable leak-resistant roofs available.

Are metal roofs safe in coastal-strength winds?

Yes. Brentwood's typical wind gusts reach 142 km/h; Interlock panels are warranted to resist 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to spec. The four-way interlocking design locks each panel to its neighbors, distributing uplift stress across the entire roof rather than concentrating it on fasteners. UL 2218 Class 4 hail testing validates impact durability under extreme conditions. Aluminum's rigidity and the mechanical interlock—not glue or sealant—keep panels secured during nor'easters.

Does hail damage metal roofs, and can I get insurance benefits?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4, the highest available impact rating, with coverage even for hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurers recognize this durability and may offer premium discounts. For comparison, asphalt and wood shake suffer cracking and splitting in hail; Brentwood's freeze-thaw cycles and occasional severe weather make impact resistance valuable. Contact your insurer with the UL 2218 Class 4 certification—some carriers reduce deductibles or lower rates for Class 4 roofs.

Can aluminum roofs rust or corrode in coastal New York?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. When scratched, an oxide layer forms instantly and self-heals—it acts as a sacrificial barrier. Steel roofs rust; Interlock's roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) remains structurally sound for decades. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating is applied to both sides, adding extra protection in salt-air environments. Installed since 1998 in coastal settings and Antarctic research stations, Interlock's proven corrosion resistance matches Brentwood's 1,220 mm annual rainfall and variable humidity.

Do reflective metal roofs reduce cooling costs in summer?

Yes. Interlock's energy-efficient colors achieve initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny) and thermal emissivity of 0.84, reflecting heat rather than absorbing it like asphalt. With about 3,127 annual sunshine hours in Brentwood, this reflectivity keeps attic temperatures lower, reducing air-conditioning load. Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms the measurable cooling benefit. Metal also reaches ambient temperature quickly—unlike asphalt, which stores heat—so evening radiative cooling works efficiently.

What's the real lifespan of an Interlock metal roof?

The Guardian Warranty provides a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It is one-time transferable, extending 50 years from installation for the next owner. Manufactured since 1998 with installations across diverse climates—coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic stations—real-world data shows decades of performance. This is your last roof; you will not reroof during your ownership.

Are metal roofs fire-resistant?

Yes. Aluminum is non-combustible; Interlock achieves Class A fire rating, the highest available. This matters in Brentwood during dry periods and for homeowners in wildland-urban interface zones. ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 confirms compliance with IBC/IRC fire codes. Unlike wood shake (Class C) and asphalt (Class C), aluminum will not ignite or spread flame. Insurance companies recognize this; some offer lower rates for Class A roofs. The metal itself is inert; no fuel load means no contribution to fire spread.

Can Interlock metal roofing be installed over my existing asphalt roof?

Yes, in most cases. The extraordinary lightweight design—Tile profile at about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—means no structural reinforcement is required. Interlock installs directly over solid decking or existing asphalt, eliminating costly tear-off and landfill fees. Installation typically takes days, not weeks. Interlock Roofing of America has served Brentwood since 2014 and handles local permitting and inspection. The four-way interlock design accommodates minor deck irregularities, making retrofit faster than full replacement.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Brentwood’s climate?

Yes. Brentwood averages about 58 cm of snow, 1222 mm of rain, roughly 54 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 142 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
