What our customers are saying:
It's been about 6 weeks since our new roof was completed, and we are thrilled with the result. The whole process from start to finish was seamless and very efficient. As a salesperson myself, I was impressed with the 'no pressure' approach to selling us the roof and the information that was provided to us to make an informed decision on the type of roof for our home. We chose the black slate and it looks very smart and has transformed the look of our home considerably. Since the roof was installed, we have had the usual mixed bag of Washington weather - heavy rain, hail, strong winds, and frost. Our roof has been put to the test and passed with flying colors. Frank observed the installation process and was impressed with the seamless flashing, custom-made on site, and state of the art vent coverings. Our roof looks beautiful and stands out from the others in our neighborhood. We were particularly impressed with the workmanship of Victor and Mark Lomakin, the two men who installed the roof. They were punctual, fast, courteous, respectful, efficient and very professional. Our neighbors also commented on how well they worked. When the roof was complete, they cleared away all debris and even removed the unwanted satellite dish from our roof. It couldn't have gone better. We received all the financial documentation in a timely manner and all of the employees we have dealt with have been very knowledgeable and helpful. Our only criticism is that it would be nice to have an online payment facility for overpayments. Currently the only way to do that is to mail a payment to Canada but we don't have checks so we would have to purchase money orders and mail them as we intend to make over-payments along the way. We would happily recommend Interlock to anyone looking for a new roof. Kind regards Jennifer and Frank Herboldsheimer Ocean Shores, WA
Of the five name brand roofing contractors I screened for this project I chose Interlock and I am very pleased with the roof. Coordination and communication was critical especially since Interlock was to perform the installation immediately following another contractor performing a siding replacement. Communication with the interlock team was great and they remained flexible. Interlock was able to adjust their installation timeline as issues popped up with the siding project. Interlock promptly scheduled and dispatched materials and crew as soon as the siding contractor cleared out. I was a bit concerned about introducing a ">metal roof to the neighborhood, but could not be happier with the end result. In an effort to help tie everything together I had the siding contractor match the fascia wrap and gutters to the interlock ">roof black slate finish. The installation team was courteous, professional, and they notified me of any issues they ran across with the structure during the tear-off phase. Clean-up performed by the installation team was better than that performed by other contractors that had worked at the site. Great attention to detail and they took extra measures to protect sensitive areas around the house. I am currently working with their finance department as I Refinance the house and they are by far the friendliest finance team I have ever worked with. Great communication and customer care standards! The roof looks amazing and definitely grabs the attention of people driving by. The most amusing reaction so far was while I was watering the plants in the front yard a vehicle drove by, stopped abruptly, turned around, and pulled up into the driveway. A salesman in corporate attire for another roofing company stepped out of the vehicle and started asking questions about the roof. I was very familiar with the brand he represented because their product is rated among the best asphalt roofing products in the country. I thought that was quite amusing because here I am giving him contact information for a competitor . He was interested in something similar for his home so we talked for a bit about the Interlock Roof and he was very impressed. Reminded me of those old Coke versus Pepsi commercials.
Thanks for a very positive roofing experience! Our new roof is so beautiful we’re thinking of charging a fee to all the gawking neighbors that stop by to admire it!!! This was fun, positive experience from start to finish. Our sales rep spent three hours at our home going over every possible detail with us. He was knowledgeable, friendly and answered all our questions. As you can see by the pictures we have a pretty basic roof. There was no tear off to do; still, our three installers were 80% done on the very first day! Everything was done and cleaned up to our satisfaction by the end of day two. Our installers were friendly, courteous and hard working. I watched them for a few minutes as they all worked like a finely tuned machine installing our roof in perfect rhythm. For us, Interlock meant that the third time was the charm. We’d tried to do business with two other companies. The first took a large amount of money as a down payment and gave absolutely no customer service for two months. We got our money back and started over. The second company gave an inaccurate bid. Needless to say, we entered into this contract with some trepidation. interlock is a fabulous company and we’d recommend them to anyone in the market for a new roof!
We are writing this letter to show our appreciation for the wonderful job that was done on our roof. From the date your company representative met with us in our home to the date of completion, words cannot express how completely satisfied we are with your company. We definitely wanted a quality roof and were very impressed by the representation that was given to us. The product you provide was enough for us to make our decision, however it was a huge plus not to have to deal with a pushy salesman and to have such polite, friendly and hard working men providing the service. It was a pleasure to have them around our home. The quality, craftsmanship and lifetime warranty of this ">roof far outweighs the increased costs over other roof systems. However, other roof systems don't come with lifetime warranties and many only last for 8 to 10 years. We may have paid a little more initially, but how wonderful it is to know we will never have to re-roof our home again. And in addition to all of the above, it looks so beautiful and has added so much style to our home. I never dreamed a roof could make such a difference. Again, Thank you so much and be sure to know we will highly recommend your company to all of our family and friends.
I am very pleased with the entire experience with Interlock Roofing. Ross did a fantastic job of showing me all of the options available, and explaining how Interlock is different from other roofing. This was not a hard sales pitch. I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable a metal roof was. I had five other estimates for a traditional composite roof, and the price difference for a forever roof was negligible considering all the benefits. Next, the installation. These guys were amazing! Only two guys doing the demo and reroof, but very hard workers and did a fantastic job. It seems rare these days to find skilled tradesmen that take pride in their work, and these guys exceeded my expectations. I also took advantage of Interlock’s financing. Drew was very helpful and accommodating. The whole process was taken care of through Interlock, making it super convenient and great communication throughout. I will highly recommend:)
I installed a new metal interlock roof on my home in Anacortes. A big part of the cost was removing the existing concrete tiles from my roof which are a challenge. From the beginning working with sales, Paul and Ross was a pleasure...very responsive and professional. The installion crew and project managers, Tony and Patrick were terrific to work with. There were a few complications due to the existing roof but the Interlock team worked with me to resolve those issues. The crew were punctual and the installation proceeded on schedule. The cleanup was immaculate. My main goal was NOT to see any further leaking in my lifetime and hopefully that will be achieved. The roof looks great. If you are in the market for a metal roof, I would certainly recommend Interlock.
Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness, Value Thank you Interlock for our beautiful new roof! Installation was great from start to finish. We have lots of neighbors walking by and saying “wow” and that it doesn’t look like a metal roof. We are so happy to have our “forever” roof and to never have to re-roof again! 😀 Only wish we had done it SOONER! Just a few days ago my husband and I were excited to see our new Interlock aluminum roof completed in the gorgeous eye popping finish of copper penny shake topping our newly purchased log home in Bellingham WA. We are so thankful for the signage that the company uses when completing new roofs because when we were first looking at our home and considering a purchase we happened to drive by a house just down the road that had the same " title="copper" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">copper finish aluminum Interlock roof that we eventually decided on. Seeing this roof installed on another house was the impetus that we needed to call the company and begin our inquiry well before we even purchased our home. We did our homework and considered other roofing materials and companies, but Interlock stood out in our minds as our top choice. The Interlock salesmen, Ross and Paul also went out of their way to come and look at the home and the roofing and bring samples to put on the roof for us to see during our inspection period. They also met with us immediately after closing on a Sunday as we wanted to lock in on a date for installation as soon as we could. We have a very large square footage of roofing, as well as a roof line that is very prominent on the house and we wanted to do something to enhance the stately character for what is definitely a very magical house and property. We have only now owned our house for less than two months, and already have our beautiful new roof completely installed. As we closed on our house in mid-October and we live in the Pacific NW near the Canadian border, this is already a feat. The team of roofers who were sent by Interlock to do our installation were some of the hardest working, most focused, and skilled labor crew we have had the pleasure of coming across. They completed the job in 2.5 weeks, working weekdays and Saturdays, arriving at 7:30 AM and working until 6 PM into the darkness with headlamps on. They worked in rain, cold, and very windy conditions, removing 90,000 lbs. of clay " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">tile roofing and replacing it with the Interlock 100 year warrantied high quality roofing. The team was extremely respectful, also replacing a skylight that we added to the job mid-way and reinforcing roofing around other skylights that appeared to be leaking. All members of the Interlock company that we have spoken with or had contact with otherwise have been friendly and personable, respectful, and quickly and effectively addressed any questions or issues that we have brought to their attention. We feel safe and secure under our beautiful and functional Interlock roof that is quiet when it rains and lets the water run off in rivulets into the eaves. We thank everyone at Interlock and hope to have a long and successful relationship with Interlock and our new roof.
We are very pleased with our new roof installed by Interlock Metal Roofing. The house looks beautiful, more than I imagined. You Paul Wright, as our salesman, are appreciated for all the information about the product and the no pressure approach you do. The installers were wonderful. They were great to work with—cleaned the area around the house each night. Our house was three days from start to finish …amazing to watch. We couldn’t be happier with the service and the product.
To Whom It May Concern: It is our pleasure to highly recommend Ross and Interlock Roofing for your next roofing project. Our roof was installed in August of 2017 it’s amazing the performance it provides to our home. The temperature indoors during the summer is cooler allowing energy savings, our Shake profile stands out with lasting beauty and durability. The installation crew is as great as the product they are polite and professional and went above our expectations they answered all our questions with no concerns. Our investment to have Interlock roof on our home gives us Peace of mind knowing for years to come we will never have to worry about our roof again. We would not hesitate to recommend Interlock Roofs and their awesome products to anyone looking for a new roof.
We just wanted to let you know how thoroughly-pleased we are with our new Interlock Roof. It is absolutely beautiful and we have had a lot of people stopping as they walk or drive by to admire how nice it looks. Everything progressed on the job exactly as you had shared with us when we signed the contract. There were no surprises. From the beginning when we got the call to set up a start date, to the final clean up and retrieval of the waste bin everything was handled so professionally. Viktor and Alex were a dream to work with-so-pleasant and each day everything was left so tidy that it would have been hard for guests to tell that we were in the middle of a re-roofing job. We will highly recommend your product and doing business with such a professional and obviously well run company.
What a substantial difference the Interlock aluminum roof has made to the appearance of my hundred year old house. The haunted house look changed instantly into desirable real estate. The people who sold me the house have said they wish they had asked more for it now! My previous roofer, who I have used for many years on five different roofs with excellent results; drove by and said he knew it was a good job. He also wanted to recommend Interlock roofing to another customer who wanted something better than composition roofing. The service was great, the sheet metal engineers were industrious, exacting workers, and there have been no problems with anything. It looks so solid and neat; I cannot describe it exactly, but I will never be happy with composition roofing again. The leaves slide right off so it is always clean, and shows off the gables and fancy lines of the house so well... I love it!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Skamokawa Valley
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Skamokawa Valley, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Skamokawa Valley.
How does a metal roof handle heavy snow in Skamokawa Valley winters?
Metal roofs shed snow and ice far more effectively than asphalt because the smooth, hard surface prevents moisture from bonding and expanding into dams. With about 49 cm of snow and roughly 34 freeze-thaw cycles per year in this region, that constant thaw-refreeze cycle is exactly where ice dams form on traditional roofs. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels create a continuous, rigid plane that lets snow slide off safely when sun exposure triggers movement, eliminating the wood rot and water damage that plague asphalt roofs through repeated freeze-thaw stress. Snow guards are available if you need to manage slide-off distance.
Does a metal roof really stay dry with Skamokawa Valley's 1500+ mm of annual rain?
Yes. Your valley averages about 1578 mm of rainfall annually, and metal roofing handles it by design: the interlocking panel seams overlap and direct water downslope in a controlled path, eliminating the standing water that weakens asphalt shingles. The four-way interlock means water cannot back up into the fasteners or gaps. A solid deck and quality underlayment—both standard with professional installation—keep the system impermeable. Unlike asphalt, which degrades as rain continuously softens its binding compounds, aluminum's oxide layer protects against moisture indefinitely. With Interlock's ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliance and installer experience since 1997 in this exact climate, leak risk is engineered out.
Why choose aluminum roofing instead of steel in a wet climate like ours?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and weakens steel roofing in wet, salty air. Instead, aluminum forms a microscopic oxide layer that actually heals itself when scratched, sealing the wound automatically. Combine that with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating applied to both sides of every panel and a 30-year fade-and-chalk warranty, and your roof is protected through decades of Wahkiakum County's 1578 mm annual rainfall and salt spray if you're near waterways. Steel roofing requires ongoing maintenance to prevent rust staining and structural failure; aluminum just gets lighter and tougher with age.
Is metal roofing really worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?
If you plan to stay 20+ years, metal roofing almost always wins financially. Asphalt typically lasts 15–20 years before your valley's 1578 mm rainfall, 34 annual freeze-thaw cycles, and 103 km/h wind gusts degrade it beyond repair, forcing a full tear-off, disposal, and reinstall. Metal roofing doesn't need replacement—the Guardian lifetime limited warranty covers the material for the original owner, and it transfers once to the next owner for 50 years. Factor in no tear-off waste, zero patching, no insurance premium hikes from age-related claims, and the 10% discount or financing available now through Spring 2027, and the equation shifts in metal's favor on day one of year two.
Can a metal roof withstand the wind gusts we get here?
Skamokawa Valley sees typical gusts around 103 km/h, and Interlock metal roofing is warranted to resist sustained winds up to 120 mph (193 km/h)—well above what your region throws at it. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels lock together so tightly that wind cannot peel or lift a single sheet; the system acts as one continuous membrane rather than overlapping shingles that catch wind like sails. All fasteners are concealed under the interlock, protected from the elements and from the aerodynamic forces that tear exposed fasteners loose. In nearly three decades serving the Pacific Northwest coast, Interlock installers have seen this design hold through exactly these conditions without failure.
Does a metal roof get damaged by hail, and can it help with insurance?
Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. The aluminum is so hard that most hail bounces off; even Class 4 impact tests fire steel balls at 1.25 inches falling 50 feet. That durability often qualifies you for insurance discounts because you represent lower claims risk. Asphalt shingles fail catastrophically under the same hail, triggering expensive claims and premium increases. Speak with your insurer about the specific savings available, but the physics are clear: a non-combustible, impact-rated metal roof costs you less in annual premium than the shingles you'll be replacing after the next severe hail event.
How long will a metal roof actually last, and what does the warranty really cover?
Interlock's Guardian warranty is lifetime limited for the original owner—no prorating, meaning full coverage year one and year fifty. It covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. The warranty transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion, a powerful selling point if you ever move. In practice, aluminum roofing installed in 1998 is still performing for customers today, and the coating carries a separate 30-year warranty against chalking and fading. With Wahkiakum County's 1578 mm rain, 49 cm snow, and 34 freeze-thaw cycles per year, a product designed and tested to handle coastal weather will handle your climate indefinitely.
How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood shakes?
Metal roofing requires virtually zero maintenance. No shingles curl or split, no moss grows thick enough to matter on smooth aluminum, and the Alunar coating is rated CALGreen for reduced maintenance. Cedar shake and wood shakes absorb 1578 mm of rain annually and start rotting within a decade, requiring costly replacement sections. Asphalt shingles degrade faster in freeze-thaw cycles, shed granules into gutters, and demand repeated patching. With Interlock, you hose off debris once or twice a year if you want, and that's it. The oxide layer on aluminum self-heals scratches, and the coating lasts 30 years. By year twenty, asphalt will have demanded thousands in repairs; your metal roof will look unchanged.
Do I need to reinforce my roof structure to handle metal roofing?
No. This is one of metal's biggest advantages. The Mediterranean Tile profile, which visually replaces concrete or clay tile, weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than the real thing. The Slate runs 0.41 lb/sq ft, and the Shake about 0.58 lb/sq ft. Your existing roof deck—whether it's old asphalt, wood, or composite—can support metal with zero structural work. This matters in Skamokawa Valley because many homes are older; retrofitting a traditional tile roof would mean $10,000+ in reinforcement. Aluminum's light weight installs directly over what you have now, cutting installation time, eliminating hidden costs, and letting you get the aesthetic you want without tearing up your home.
How long does metal roof installation take, and can you install over my existing roof?
Yes, Interlock installs over existing roofing in most cases—no tear-off needed. Installation typically takes 3–5 days depending on roof size and complexity, compared to 1–2 weeks for asphalt tear-off-and-replace. The lightweight panels (0.41–0.59 lb/sq ft) mean faster handling and less equipment wear. Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has been installing in this region since 1997 and knows Wahkiakum County's weather patterns and building codes intimately. They'll follow ICC-ES ESR-1790 specs, ensure proper underlayment and drainage for your 1578 mm annual rainfall, and stand behind the work. Current financing—no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation—makes now an ideal time to schedule.
Is a metal roof a good choice for Skamokawa Valley’s climate?
Yes. Skamokawa Valley averages about 49 cm of snow, 1578 mm of rain, roughly 34 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 103 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
