  • Class A fire-rated available for homeowners who prioritize ember and ignition resistance, even in suburban Kenosha County settings.
  • Atmospheric rivers — phrased for local relevance: system manages extended heavy-rain events and intense storm bands that bring saturated conditions to Edgewood.
  • Coastal salt air — although Edgewood is inland, the Alunar® finish still resists accelerated corrosion should Lake Michigan proximity or Kenosha County shoreline exposure be a factor.
  • Moss control — smooth coated panels and rapid drainage reduce moss and biologic growth on shaded roofs common to mature Edgewood neighborhoods.

Review: July 20, 2016Completion: June 9, 2016

Hello Greg, I just had to drop you a line to tell you how pleased we are with the Interlock Roofing System that was installed last week. I have to admit that as good as I was hoping it would look, it turned out to be so much better than I had even hoped. We couldn’t be prouder of how our house looks now; the new roof is visually stunning. We can now breathe a huge sigh of relief, knowing that we’ll never again have to go out into the yard and pick up the pieces of asphalt shingles that would blow off of the roof after a storm or a high wind day. To boot, the very day after the roof was completed, we had someone who identified himself only as “your nosy neighbor from 10 miles down the road,” who stopped, knocked on our door and started asking questions about the roof. He was shocked to hear that it was a metal roof. He thought that we had installed a slate roof! He was very interested to hear all the facts about the roof, and suddenly I became Interlock Roofing’s most avid salesman. I brought out your business card so that he could take a picture of it with his cell phone, and he said he’d be contacting you soon. I’ve also been talking about the roof with some of the guys at work who had seen the before and after pictures that I brought in, and I’m sure that you will be hearing from some of them in the future too. Now, as much as I couldn’t be happier with contacting you and doing business with you, I have to tell you that even you will have to take a back seat to the super awesome job of your installers, Jesse and his team. To say we were blown away by these guys would be the understatement of the century. They came in like a whirlwind and started doing their thing and made astounding progress in such a short period of time, it blew us away. Jesse himself is such a great face to have attached to your company. He is professional, knowledgeable, and so personable that we knew in an instant that we were in good hands with him and his team. All of his team members were that way, and honestly, the hardest working group of guys that you will ever witness. We expected it to take anywhere from 5 days to a week to get our whole roof done. These guys had it done in 2 days and a couple of hours, and they left no stone unturned in doing the A-1 job that was promised. They even fixed a couple of cosmetic items on our existing siding to boot! What a great bunch of guys. And let me reiterate one more time,…Interlock, as a company, should feel confident and proud to have Jesse and his team representing them. I’m positive you will never find a better team to install your product than them. Again, thank you for the product and the work that you’ve done. You now have not only a very satisfied customer in us, but you also have a couple of very enthusiastic ambassadors for Interlock Roofing Systems.

Review: June 17, 2017Completion: February 17, 2017

I have made, and continuously still make, numerous recommendations to family & friends to install a Interlock roof. And, I have produced pictures on demand that I stored on my smart phone. If possible, I would be appreciative if I could get the drone footage that Jesse had taken after the finishing of the installation. I believe it would be a great selling point coming from a true customer to help propel the Interlock name. There are just a couple areas on the roof that the installation crew could have touched-on during the installation, but overall the roof looks simply amazing. Quality certainly displays the professionalism the installers had put into their work. Since the installation of our new roof, we have received numerous compliments from many of our neighbors that walk around our subdivision, plus a handful of neighbors in the adjoining subdivisions. Many questions have been asked with many answers given. We are definitely happy with our new Interlock roof. We have NOT once questioned or second guessed our decision to install an Interlock roof. It is one of the best decisions we have ever made for re-investing in our home...Thank you, Interlock!

I never really thought I could be thrilled about a roof, but I have to tell you; our new Interlock roof is beautiful! It adds true elegance to our home. We know it adds value as well, and the fact that we will never need to re-roof again is a definite advantage. Everyone within our organization, from the initial phone contact to the installation crew, was courteous and pleasant to work with. The install went smoothly and the crew kept the site clean from beginning to end. Everybody we have shown our Interlock roof to has seemed quite impressed also. We would (and in fact have already done so) recommend Interlock Roofing to others.

Excellent roof! Looks good! The installers were courteous and professional. Put the tarp all around the house and kept the site very clean. I was impressed with their super service. They bent over backward to please us. The A-Team of Roofing! When it rains, it is NOT any louder, and we are in a wind zone, and shingles have not blown off, and we have had the roof since 2008. The snow slides off, too! And the salesman knows his product and explains it well. It will add value to the house. Unlike asphalt, that's like tar and paper, and doesn't hold up. The Interlock Lifetime Roof is super durable!d Greg Weber the salesman, knows his product and explains it well. It will add value to the house. Unlike asphalt, that’s like tar and paper and doesn’t hold up. The Interlock Lifetime Roof is super durable!

Review: May 17, 2017Completion: August 10, 2009

We purchased our roof in 2009 and as you can see from the pictures taken in May of 2017, our roof looks as new as the day we bought it. Here are the things we have noticed most about our Interlock Lifetime Roof over the last 8 years. It keeps our house much cooler in the summer than the asphalt roof we used to have. It really sheds snow, and the snow guards work great. We never need to use a snow rake. We love the durability and the curb appeal. Greg Weber our representative, who we were enthused to learn, is still with the company. When we saw him in 2009 he laid out all the variables in a professional way and our Interlock Roof has lived up to all of our expectations and promises he made. All companies promise results, service, and quality. Interlock delivers.

Review: May 16, 2017Completion: July 31, 2008

The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off. We are also in a wind tunnel area, and we have never lost an Interlock shingle, and we have had the roof for many years. We were so pleased with our Interlock roof that we put the same roof on our lake home in northern Wisconsin. We get a lot more snow up there and the Interlock’s snow-shedding performance capabilities are second to none on that roof, too!

I love the roof! It looks great, and the squirrels that we’re crawling all over my old asphalt roof slide right off it. The snow slides off, too. I hope to get some $500 referrals. The crew was terrific, hardworking, courteous, polite, and clean.

Drip, drip, drip. This is not a sound you want to hear at 3:30 am… in bed… coming from your attic… in the dead of winter. A quick peek in the attic confirmed my worst fears, the ice dam on the roof was allowing melted water to seep through the crappy asphalt shingles and into the house. We called a local contractor and had the ice dam removed, but this didn’t fix the underlying problem that our current roof was cheap and damaged. My wife and I moved into a beautiful three-story brick Tudor on Madison’s near west side in the fall of 06′. It was perfect in that it had been beautifully remodeled with gorgeous woodwork, marble, and stunning attention to detail, with the exception of the roof. We had decided that, barring any unforeseen circumstances, this was the house we were going to stay in until retirement, so why not invest in a metal roof. After a couple of weeks of research and interviewing, we settled on Interlock. Part of the choice was made on the quality of the product, and part was made on the salesmanship of the rep, Chuck. Work started and except for some problems with the weather, things progressed smoothly. We were especially impressed with the steps the crew took in regard to safety, and our stay-at-home neighbor told us about how exciting the crew was, “you’re definitely getting your money's worth,” was her exact quote. At the end of the job, the crew even emptied all the trash we had pulled out of the attic for us. Now that’s service! After everything is said and done, we’ve been able to cap off our gorgeous house with an equally gorgeous roof.

I had Interlock put on a beautiful red slate roof 17 years ago.The roof still looks beautiful. 5 years ago, I had them also re-roof my garage with the same type of slate. The roofs look gorgeous and I have no maintenance whatsoever.I get complements all the time. The guy whom I contracted with was named "Tim' but has since died. He was a really nice guy. Back in 2009, the roof was much cheaper. ( I actually paid more for the garage 5 years ago!) I am extremely happy with the roofs. The guys did a wonderful job, replacing rotted boards where necessary. They also told me about very cheap gutters I could buy at Menards instead of those ridiculously - priced "special" gutter systems. I bought them and they placed them on my buildings. This home will go to my daughter one day; I do not want her to have to lift a finger. Note that I had an asphalt roof previously. It lasted only 12 years. The shingles curled up under the sun and cracked. They looked terrible. I can honestly say that these metals roofs by Interlock are very much worth what you pay for them. They will last a lifetime with almost no maintenance. Instead of replacing a roof every 15 years and paying lots for asphalt or fiberglass, their metal roofs last very long and you will never have to re- roof again.

Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems: We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt. In fact, our neighbors lost many shingles in the last major wind storm, and our Interlock roof proved to be the high wind resistance product it is with all shingles intact. We love the fact it’s more reliable and has peace of mind knowing it has lots of longevity and will look brand new not only now but down the road. We also received a discount on our homeowner’s insurance. Overall, we were very satisfied with our sales representative Greg Weber, the company, the service, and the product.

In March 2017 we had an Interlock Lifetime Roof installed. Greg Weber, the salesman, was not pushy. We were very impressed with his salesmanship and the product. He also offered to have the Interlock product put on our wishing well in the front yard. That was something we really appreciated. The clean-up was excellent! Many neighbors and people who " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by the house have noticed the roof and asked a lot of questions. We have gotten lots of compliments!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Edgewood

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Edgewood, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Edgewood.

Does metal roofing handle Wisconsin's heavy snow and ice buildup?

Yes—Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are engineered to shed snow and resist ice damming in climates like Edgewood's, where you'll see about 88 cm of snow annually. The lightweight design (the Slate profile weighs just 0.41 lb/sq ft) means snow doesn't compress into ice the way it does on heavier asphalt, and the smooth interlocked seams prevent water from pooling during the 81 freeze-thaw cycles your region experiences each year. Optional snow guards are available if you prefer controlled shedding. The panels expand and contract with temperature swings without cracking or curling—aluminum's natural flexibility handles Wisconsin winters reliably.

Will Edgewood's freeze-thaw cycles damage an aluminum metal roof?

Aluminum actually thrives in freeze-thaw conditions because it expands and contracts uniformly without degrading. Your area experiences roughly 81 freeze-thaw days per year, which would cause wood shakes to split and asphalt to crack—but aluminum panels remain intact through those stress cycles. The material itself contains no organic components that absorb water and rupture when frozen. Interlock's roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) and Alunar 70% PVDF coating (warranted 30 years against cracking under ASTM D4214) are specifically rated for exactly this kind of climatic wear. The Guardian lifetime limited warranty covers cracking, so freeze-thaw durability is not a future worry.

Why doesn't aluminum roofing rust like steel roofs do in Wisconsin?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—rust only forms when iron oxidizes. What aluminum develops instead is a transparent, self-healing oxide layer that actually protects the material beneath. In Edgewood's humid climate with about 775 mm of annual rainfall, that oxide layer continuously repairs itself when scratched or weathered, meaning the roof doesn't degrade over decades the way steel roofing does. Steel roofs require paint or coatings to prevent rust; aluminum's protection is intrinsic. Interlock adds further durability with a Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish applied to both sides of every panel, giving you a 30-year warranty against corrosion in addition to the material's inherent non-rusting properties.

Can metal roofing stand up to Wisconsin wind gusts?

Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Edgewood's typical gusts reach about 100 km/h, well within that range. The interlocking design means each panel is mechanically secured to its neighbors, creating a unified system that resists uplift and lateral forces far better than overlapped asphalt shingles, which can peel during seasonal wind events. This isn't just marketing—the engineering is validated by ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 (reissued 2025 for IBC/IRC compliance). During the spring and autumn storms your region experiences, that interlocked grip gives you confidence your roof will stay in place.

Does hail damage metal roofing, and could it lower my insurance costs?

Interlock aluminum roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 is the benchmark insurers use when evaluating impact resistance, and many homeowners in hail-prone regions see premium reductions when they install a Class 4-rated roof. Edgewood's climate doesn't feature extreme hail events, but the durability is built in. Contact your insurer with the UL 2218 Class 4 rating; some carriers offer discounts because the roof's impact resistance reduces claim likelihood. The material's light weight also means impact forces dissipate differently than on heavy slate or tile, giving you genuine protection without the structural burden.

What warranty comes with Interlock metal roofing, and how long will it last?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—meaning no gradual reduction in coverage over time. It covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance for as long as you own the home. The warranty is transferable once, giving the next owner 50 years from completion date, which significantly boosts resale appeal in Edgewood's market. The Alunar coating alone carries a separate 30-year warranty against chalking and fading (measured per ASTM standards), so even the finish is protected well beyond the typical asphalt roof's 15-20 year lifespan. Paired with aluminum's inherent resistance to freeze-thaw cycles and the 88 cm of annual snow your region receives, this warranty reflects a product engineered to last generations, not decades.

How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood?

Interlock metal roofing needs virtually no maintenance—no annual inspections for cracked or curled shingles, no wood treatments, no algae removal. Asphalt roofs in Edgewood's climate (775 mm rain, 88 cm snow, 81 freeze-thaw cycles per year) degrade rapidly from UV exposure during 3074 sunshine hours annually, requiring frequent repairs. Wood shakes split during freeze-thaw cycles and rot in moisture. Aluminum simply weathers in place without degradation. Leaves may collect in gutters, as they do with any roof, but the roofing surface itself doesn't require pressure washing, re-coating, or seasonal repair. The CALGreen certification recognizes this reduced-maintenance durability. Over a 50-year lifespan, that elimination of maintenance visits and repairs—plus the absence of tear-off and landfill costs—compounds into genuine savings.

Is metal roofing light enough to install over my existing roof without reinforcement?

Yes. Interlock aluminum roofing is extraordinarily light—the Mediterranean Tile profile weighs just 0.59 lb/sq ft, making it roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. This means no structural reinforcement is required, and the roof can install directly over your existing shingles in most cases, eliminating expensive tear-off and disposal costs. Edgewood homeowners often face the choice: tear off asphalt (landfill waste), reinforce the structure to support traditional tile, or choose aluminum that installs cleanly over existing material. The light weight also reduces stress during Edgewood's heavy snow events—about 88 cm per year—since the roof itself doesn't add burden to your framing. The ICC-ES evaluation (ESR-1790) confirms installation over existing roofs is code-compliant.

Does metal roofing help with cooling costs in summer?

Interlock's energy-efficient colors are rated with thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny), meaning they reflect heat rather than absorb it—unlike asphalt, which stores solar energy. In Edgewood, where you enjoy about 3074 annual sunshine hours, that reflectance reduces cooling demand on hot days, lowering air conditioning costs over summer months. The Cool Roof Rating Council certification validates this performance. During your region's 81 freeze-thaw cycles, that same reflectivity prevents excessive thermal cycling that degrades asphalt shingles. The energy savings aren't dramatic in a Wisconsin climate, but they're real and measurable—particularly in spring and early fall when cooling is occasional but effective.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Edgewood, and how long have they been around?

Interlock Metal Roofing has served the Edgewood and greater Kenosha County region since 2001, bringing over two decades of local installation experience to your project. A local installer means faster response times, familiarity with Wisconsin's specific climate challenges (88 cm of snow, 81 freeze-thaw days, gusts to 100 km/h), and accountability within the community. They understand the drainage patterns, building codes, and seasonal constraints unique to your area—details that matter when timing an installation around Edgewood's weather. You're working with professionals who've installed hundreds of Interlock roofs through Wisconsin winters and can answer site-specific questions about your home's orientation, existing structure, and local wind exposure.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Edgewood’s climate?

Yes. Edgewood averages about 88 cm of snow, 775 mm of rain, roughly 81 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 100 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
