What our customers are saying:
Hello Greg, I just had to drop you a line to tell you how pleased we are with the Interlock Roofing System that was installed last week. I have to admit that as good as I was hoping it would look, it turned out to be so much better than I had even hoped. We couldn’t be prouder of how our house looks now; the new roof is visually stunning. We can now breathe a huge sigh of relief, knowing that we’ll never again have to go out into the yard and pick up the pieces of asphalt shingles that would blow off of the roof after a storm or a high wind day. To boot, the very day after the roof was completed, we had someone who identified himself only as “your nosy neighbor from 10 miles down the road,” who stopped, knocked on our door and started asking questions about the roof. He was shocked to hear that it was a metal roof. He thought that we had installed a slate roof! He was very interested to hear all the facts about the roof, and suddenly I became Interlock Roofing’s most avid salesman. I brought out your business card so that he could take a picture of it with his cell phone, and he said he’d be contacting you soon. I’ve also been talking about the roof with some of the guys at work who had seen the before and after pictures that I brought in, and I’m sure that you will be hearing from some of them in the future too. Now, as much as I couldn’t be happier with contacting you and doing business with you, I have to tell you that even you will have to take a back seat to the super awesome job of your installers, Jesse and his team. To say we were blown away by these guys would be the understatement of the century. They came in like a whirlwind and started doing their thing and made astounding progress in such a short period of time, it blew us away. Jesse himself is such a great face to have attached to your company. He is professional, knowledgeable, and so personable that we knew in an instant that we were in good hands with him and his team. All of his team members were that way, and honestly, the hardest working group of guys that you will ever witness. We expected it to take anywhere from 5 days to a week to get our whole roof done. These guys had it done in 2 days and a couple of hours, and they left no stone unturned in doing the A-1 job that was promised. They even fixed a couple of cosmetic items on our existing siding to boot! What a great bunch of guys. And let me reiterate one more time,…Interlock, as a company, should feel confident and proud to have Jesse and his team representing them. I’m positive you will never find a better team to install your product than them. Again, thank you for the product and the work that you’ve done. You now have not only a very satisfied customer in us, but you also have a couple of very enthusiastic ambassadors for Interlock Roofing Systems.
I have made, and continuously still make, numerous recommendations to family & friends to install a Interlock roof. And, I have produced pictures on demand that I stored on my smart phone. If possible, I would be appreciative if I could get the drone footage that Jesse had taken after the finishing of the installation. I believe it would be a great selling point coming from a true customer to help propel the Interlock name. There are just a couple areas on the roof that the installation crew could have touched-on during the installation, but overall the roof looks simply amazing. Quality certainly displays the professionalism the installers had put into their work. Since the installation of our new roof, we have received numerous compliments from many of our neighbors that walk around our subdivision, plus a handful of neighbors in the adjoining subdivisions. Many questions have been asked with many answers given. We are definitely happy with our new Interlock roof. We have NOT once questioned or second guessed our decision to install an Interlock roof. It is one of the best decisions we have ever made for re-investing in our home...Thank you, Interlock!
I never really thought I could be thrilled about a roof, but I have to tell you; our new Interlock roof is beautiful! It adds true elegance to our home. We know it adds value as well, and the fact that we will never need to re-roof again is a definite advantage. Everyone within our organization, from the initial phone contact to the installation crew, was courteous and pleasant to work with. The install went smoothly and the crew kept the site clean from beginning to end. Everybody we have shown our Interlock roof to has seemed quite impressed also. We would (and in fact have already done so) recommend Interlock Roofing to others.
Excellent roof! Looks good! The installers were courteous and professional. Put the tarp all around the house and kept the site very clean. I was impressed with their super service. They bent over backward to please us. The A-Team of Roofing! When it rains, it is NOT any louder, and we are in a wind zone, and shingles have not blown off, and we have had the roof since 2008. The snow slides off, too! And the salesman knows his product and explains it well. It will add value to the house. Unlike asphalt, that's like tar and paper, and doesn't hold up. The Interlock Lifetime Roof is super durable!d Greg Weber the salesman, knows his product and explains it well. It will add value to the house. Unlike asphalt, that’s like tar and paper and doesn’t hold up. The Interlock Lifetime Roof is super durable!
We purchased our roof in 2009 and as you can see from the pictures taken in May of 2017, our roof looks as new as the day we bought it. Here are the things we have noticed most about our Interlock Lifetime Roof over the last 8 years. It keeps our house much cooler in the summer than the asphalt roof we used to have. It really sheds snow, and the snow guards work great. We never need to use a snow rake. We love the durability and the curb appeal. Greg Weber our representative, who we were enthused to learn, is still with the company. When we saw him in 2009 he laid out all the variables in a professional way and our Interlock Roof has lived up to all of our expectations and promises he made. All companies promise results, service, and quality. Interlock delivers.
The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off. We are also in a wind tunnel area, and we have never lost an Interlock shingle, and we have had the roof for many years. We were so pleased with our Interlock roof that we put the same roof on our lake home in northern Wisconsin. We get a lot more snow up there and the Interlock’s snow-shedding performance capabilities are second to none on that roof, too!
I love the roof! It looks great, and the squirrels that we’re crawling all over my old asphalt roof slide right off it. The snow slides off, too. I hope to get some $500 referrals. The crew was terrific, hardworking, courteous, polite, and clean.
Drip, drip, drip. This is not a sound you want to hear at 3:30 am… in bed… coming from your attic… in the dead of winter. A quick peek in the attic confirmed my worst fears, the ice dam on the roof was allowing melted water to seep through the crappy asphalt shingles and into the house. We called a local contractor and had the ice dam removed, but this didn’t fix the underlying problem that our current roof was cheap and damaged. My wife and I moved into a beautiful three-story brick Tudor on Madison’s near west side in the fall of 06′. It was perfect in that it had been beautifully remodeled with gorgeous woodwork, marble, and stunning attention to detail, with the exception of the roof. We had decided that, barring any unforeseen circumstances, this was the house we were going to stay in until retirement, so why not invest in a metal roof. After a couple of weeks of research and interviewing, we settled on Interlock. Part of the choice was made on the quality of the product, and part was made on the salesmanship of the rep, Chuck. Work started and except for some problems with the weather, things progressed smoothly. We were especially impressed with the steps the crew took in regard to safety, and our stay-at-home neighbor told us about how exciting the crew was, “you’re definitely getting your money's worth,” was her exact quote. At the end of the job, the crew even emptied all the trash we had pulled out of the attic for us. Now that’s service! After everything is said and done, we’ve been able to cap off our gorgeous house with an equally gorgeous roof.
I had Interlock put on a beautiful red slate roof 17 years ago.The roof still looks beautiful. 5 years ago, I had them also re-roof my garage with the same type of slate. The roofs look gorgeous and I have no maintenance whatsoever.I get complements all the time. The guy whom I contracted with was named "Tim' but has since died. He was a really nice guy. Back in 2009, the roof was much cheaper. ( I actually paid more for the garage 5 years ago!) I am extremely happy with the roofs. The guys did a wonderful job, replacing rotted boards where necessary. They also told me about very cheap gutters I could buy at Menards instead of those ridiculously - priced "special" gutter systems. I bought them and they placed them on my buildings. This home will go to my daughter one day; I do not want her to have to lift a finger. Note that I had an asphalt roof previously. It lasted only 12 years. The shingles curled up under the sun and cracked. They looked terrible. I can honestly say that these metals roofs by Interlock are very much worth what you pay for them. They will last a lifetime with almost no maintenance. Instead of replacing a roof every 15 years and paying lots for asphalt or fiberglass, their metal roofs last very long and you will never have to re- roof again.
Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems: We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt. In fact, our neighbors lost many shingles in the last major wind storm, and our Interlock roof proved to be the high wind resistance product it is with all shingles intact. We love the fact it’s more reliable and has peace of mind knowing it has lots of longevity and will look brand new not only now but down the road. We also received a discount on our homeowner’s insurance. Overall, we were very satisfied with our sales representative Greg Weber, the company, the service, and the product.
In March 2017 we had an Interlock Lifetime Roof installed. Greg Weber, the salesman, was not pushy. We were very impressed with his salesmanship and the product. He also offered to have the Interlock product put on our wishing well in the front yard. That was something we really appreciated. The clean-up was excellent! Many neighbors and people who " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by the house have noticed the roof and asked a lot of questions. We have gotten lots of compliments!
The Interlock crew was able to take some extra time to coordinate with another contractor for solar installation. As a result, the final the result looks great and very functional. The materials used are very high quality, and they worked efficiently and cleaned up when finished.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Lake Shangrila
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Lake Shangrila, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Lake Shangrila.
Will a metal roof handle Wisconsin's freeze-thaw cycles better than asphalt?
Yes — aluminum expands and contracts uniformly across the panel, and it won't crack, curl, or split as freeze-thaw cycles stress the material. Lake Shangrila experiences about 80 freeze-thaw days per year, which is brutal on asphalt shingles and wood; aluminum's oxide layer doesn't degrade in those conditions. The four-way interlocking seams let panels move independently without buckling. Asphalt becomes brittle in cold snaps and soft when the sun hits during thaw, but aluminum stays dimensionally stable year-round.
How does Interlock metal roofing perform under Lake Shangrila's snow load?
The Slate, Cedar Shingle, and Shake profiles shed snow effectively because of their textured surface geometry, while the standing seam and tile profiles are also approved under ICC-ES ESR-1790 for snow loads in Wisconsin climates. At about 82 cm of snow per year, you're looking at an average seasonal load that aluminum handles easily — the Slate profile weighs just 0.41 lb per square foot, so your roof isn't carrying the 10-to-15-pound mass that slate or clay tile would demand. Snow guards are available if you want controlled shedding off your eaves, but the light weight means no structural reinforcement is needed.
Can a metal roof stand up to Lake Shangrila's wind gusts?
The four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification. Local gusts average 99 km/h with typical daily winds around 20 km/h — well within that rating. The overlapping panel design creates mechanical interlock at every seam, so wind pressure doesn't lift or separate the panels the way it can with asphalt shingles nailed to a substrate. Over 25 years, that's thousands of wind events, and interlocked aluminum simply doesn't fail at the seams.
Why is an aluminum roof better than steel in a wet Wisconsin climate?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron — the element that oxidizes and flakes away on steel roofs. Instead, aluminum forms a thin, invisible oxide layer that actually protects the material underneath; if that layer is scratched, it self-heals in air. The Alunar® 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish is applied to both sides of every panel for extra corrosion resistance, especially important in climates with salt spray or frequent moisture cycling. Lake Shangrila's 835 mm of annual rainfall means constant wet-dry cycles, but aluminum won't degrade the way steel would. That's why Interlock panels have been installed from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctica.
Does Interlock metal roofing qualify for hail insurance discounts in Wisconsin?
Interlock panels carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating — the highest available — and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. That durability sometimes qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts; contact your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 rating and the product spec sheet. More importantly, in a climate with occasional severe weather and about 3,094 sunshine hours per year, you're not replacing your roof every 15-20 years because hail or thermal shock splintered asphalt shingles. One roof that survives the life of your home beats multiple repairs.
How much maintenance does an Interlock metal roof really need?
Almost none. Aluminum doesn't split, rot, or curl like wood shakes or asphalt; it won't crack under freeze-thaw stress or grow moss in the shade. The Alunar® coating is rated 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214 standard), so you're not power-washing it every other year. With 835 mm of rain annually, your roof self-cleans in most rain events. Gutters and flashing need the same maintenance as any roof. No replacing rotted decking, no algae treatment, no thermal shock repairs — it's the roofing equivalent of forgetting about it.
What's the real warranty on an Interlock metal roof, and does it transfer?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner — covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's transferable once to the next owner for 50 years from completion, which means the roof you install today has warranty protection extending through your ownership and into the next homeowner's tenure. That transferability is rare among roofing warranties and adds genuine resale value. Combined with aluminum's material properties — no rot, no rust, no thermal failure — you're looking at a roof that outlasts the typical 20-to-25-year asphalt cycle by decades.
Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?
The math shifts when you measure across the roof's actual life. Asphalt costs less upfront but requires replacement every 15-20 years; metal costs more initially but needs no replacement, no major repairs, and minimal maintenance across 40+ years. When you factor in two or three asphalt roofs, the landfill costs, the labor to tear off and haul away old shingles, and the disruption to your home, aluminum becomes the last roof you buy. Lake Shangrila's freeze-thaw cycle and 82 cm of annual snow accelerate asphalt degradation, so the math favors metal even more in this climate. Financing a durable roof over 10-15 years often costs less monthly than replacing asphalt twice in that span.
Can Interlock metal roofing install over my existing roof?
Yes — because aluminum is extraordinarily light, the Mediterranean Tile profile installs at about 0.59 lb per square foot, roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. This means no structural reinforcement is needed, and installation can occur directly over most existing roofs. Your installer (Interlock Metal Roofing, serving this region since 2001) assesses your existing substrate, installs any needed underlayment and flashing, and fastens the interlocking panels in place. Installation typically takes days, not weeks. Avoiding a complete tear-off saves labor, disposal costs, and the mess that comes with a traditional reroof. Your home stays cleaner, and you're back to normal faster.
Is aluminum roofing actually better for the environment than asphalt?
Yes — aluminum is roughly 95% recyclable, and Interlock panels end the tear-off-to-landfill cycle that asphalt perpetuates. Every 15-20 years, asphalt roofs are stripped, transported, and buried; over your home's lifetime, that's multiple truckloads of waste. Aluminum panels stay on your roof for 40+ years and are fully recyclable at end of life without contamination or degradation. The Alunar® coating doesn't leach toxins into soil or water. Plus, energy-efficient colors with thermal emissivity of 0.84 reflect heat that asphalt absorbs, reducing cooling load and carbon output across the roof's decades of use. One aluminum roof replaces multiple asphalt roofs and prevents years of landfill impact.
Is a metal roof a good choice for Lake Shangrila’s climate?
Yes. Lake Shangrila averages about 82 cm of snow, 835 mm of rain, roughly 80 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 99 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
