A few weeks ago during a violent wind storm, a very big branch from our maple tree fell on our roof damaging the eaves trough and our roof. Brad and his group did an excellent job repairing the damage They also installed metal snow guards at all the critical locations as the previous guards were plastic and many of them were broken. This was over and above the roof repairs.This is a great product. From a distance it is very good looking. I highly recommend this product and the installation staff. Found this option based on what a neighbour installed. They’d done a lot of research looking for a roof similar to the slate they had in Switzerland. We worked with Bob to get the best option for us, and he was very honest and knowledgeable throughout the process. Two years on were very happy with the roof. I will say you do want to factor the snow/ice slide effect, and where the roof slope falls in relation to your car, etc. When it comes down, it can come down hard. They do install breakers to prevent any injury over walkouts, and we’ll install more in the future. All told, one of the best things we could do to permanently upgrade our home.
Had a metal roof installed a couple of years ago and love it. Had some issues lately and Ken (service technician and great guy) came to see the problem. He checked the roof and found no issues there. He then asked if he could go into the attic to have a look. When in the attic he noticed a few things including some missing insulation over the area that was having the issue. He re-spread the insulation and did a few other things as well which he thinks may resolve the problem. They also suggested adding a solar vent to move more air in the attic and came the next day to install it. Hopefully the problem is now resolved and I know that the roof is secure and also know that should I need more service they will promptly return. If considering a metal roof, contract these good folks!
I recommend Interlock completely and without reservation. Honestly, I can't think of anything on which they could improve. It was honestly one of the best experiences I've had in dealing with any home improvement needs. I recommend them without reservation!
The finished product speaks for itself, recommends itself. Before installation my neighbour was skeptical, mentioning that leaks would be difficult to detect if they developed. However he changed his mind after completion, when it was pointed out that 4 of the 6 days required for installation was spent prepping the roof surface (virtually insuring no future leakage) then 2 days actually laying the tiles. If anyone wants a recommendation I would be happy to comply.
At current prices, with NO free snow guards and charging extra for flapper ventsfor kitchen and bathroom, the friend would have to be well-heeled. Your roof nowcosts almost 4 TIMES the cost of an asphalt one. A yacht club I belong to installeda new roof about 2 years ago, and I was on the decision-making committee . They startedwanting asphalt, but ended up getting metal, largely because of my input. Interlock wasconsidered, but was too expensive. They bought a steel roof, also installed in small sections, which looked like tile. It went on strapping. The company who did it gave a very good price (much lower than yours) because of the great publicity - all the club members,their guests and visiting cruisers would get to see it and maybe want one like it. So far,they are thrilled with it. If the price difference is substantial, I might get the same for mynext roof. Although Angelo claims strapped roofs have problems, I bought a strapped steelroof once already, about 10 years ago, and so far it seems just fine. Pricing. And speed of delivering the guarantee - I don't believe I've received it yet. The realtor I am currently dealing with is of the opinion that putting a metal roof on a house youwant to sell soon is a waste of money. Most buyers are impressed enough with a new asphaltroof, which is much cheaper. Metal roofs do not provide a good return on the investment forre-sale.I was told that Interlock is now using metal roof vents because there were problems (raccoons etc. andbrittle with age breaking under snow slides) with the former plastic ones - AND Interlock made customerspay for the fix. This was not reassuring news. They should have been metal in the first place. I haveseveral Interlock roofs with plastic roof vents.The 2 flapper vents I had installed (still plastic, I believe) each got a snow guard installed above the vent.I was not impressed with the fact that this new policy was NOT mentioned when I was ordering snowguards, and that I ended up paying for snow guards to protect vents that should have been metal andnot in need of protection.

Eleazor Genge was the foreman of the team of roofing contractors supplied by Interlock Metal Roofing (Ontario) Ltd. to reroof our house at the address above. The job was started in 2011 and completed in 2012 and involved both the installation of a new aluminum sloped roof and a new flat roof covered by a heavy rubber membrane. This job was very technical in that the roof was a complex series of dormers set on a steep pitch. There were numerous roof sections that required the metal shingles to be custom cut, and several of these sections were curved, which required much skill to execute properly. We were more than impressed with the level of craftsmanship that Mr. Genge brought to the job. His careful attention to detail and his vast knowledge of carpentry and metalwork provided us with an absolutely stunning end product. We feel extremely fortunate that Mr. Genge was the foreman provided on this job, and we commend his services to anyone looking to complete this type of work.
I wish it could be cheaper. I highly recommend the product!
