Review: July 20, 2016Completion: June 9, 2016

Hello Greg, I just had to drop you a line to tell you how pleased we are with the Interlock Roofing System that was installed last week. I have to admit that as good as I was hoping it would look, it turned out to be so much better than I had even hoped. We couldn’t be prouder of how our house looks now; the new roof is visually stunning. We can now breathe a huge sigh of relief, knowing that we’ll never again have to go out into the yard and pick up the pieces of asphalt shingles that would blow off of the roof after a storm or a high wind day. To boot, the very day after the roof was completed, we had someone who identified himself only as “your nosy neighbor from 10 miles down the road,” who stopped, knocked on our door and started asking questions about the roof. He was shocked to hear that it was a metal roof. He thought that we had installed a slate roof! He was very interested to hear all the facts about the roof, and suddenly I became Interlock Roofing’s most avid salesman. I brought out your business card so that he could take a picture of it with his cell phone, and he said he’d be contacting you soon. I’ve also been talking about the roof with some of the guys at work who had seen the before and after pictures that I brought in, and I’m sure that you will be hearing from some of them in the future too. Now, as much as I couldn’t be happier with contacting you and doing business with you, I have to tell you that even you will have to take a back seat to the super awesome job of your installers, Jesse and his team. To say we were blown away by these guys would be the understatement of the century. They came in like a whirlwind and started doing their thing and made astounding progress in such a short period of time, it blew us away. Jesse himself is such a great face to have attached to your company. He is professional, knowledgeable, and so personable that we knew in an instant that we were in good hands with him and his team. All of his team members were that way, and honestly, the hardest working group of guys that you will ever witness. We expected it to take anywhere from 5 days to a week to get our whole roof done. These guys had it done in 2 days and a couple of hours, and they left no stone unturned in doing the A-1 job that was promised. They even fixed a couple of cosmetic items on our existing siding to boot! What a great bunch of guys. And let me reiterate one more time,…Interlock, as a company, should feel confident and proud to have Jesse and his team representing them. I’m positive you will never find a better team to install your product than them. Again, thank you for the product and the work that you’ve done. You now have not only a very satisfied customer in us, but you also have a couple of very enthusiastic ambassadors for Interlock Roofing Systems.

Review: June 17, 2017Completion: February 17, 2017

I have made, and continuously still make, numerous recommendations to family & friends to install a Interlock roof. And, I have produced pictures on demand that I stored on my smart phone. If possible, I would be appreciative if I could get the drone footage that Jesse had taken after the finishing of the installation. I believe it would be a great selling point coming from a true customer to help propel the Interlock name. There are just a couple areas on the roof that the installation crew could have touched-on during the installation, but overall the roof looks simply amazing. Quality certainly displays the professionalism the installers had put into their work. Since the installation of our new roof, we have received numerous compliments from many of our neighbors that walk around our subdivision, plus a handful of neighbors in the adjoining subdivisions. Many questions have been asked with many answers given. We are definitely happy with our new Interlock roof. We have NOT once questioned or second guessed our decision to install an Interlock roof. It is one of the best decisions we have ever made for re-investing in our home...Thank you, Interlock!

I never really thought I could be thrilled about a roof, but I have to tell you; our new Interlock roof is beautiful! It adds true elegance to our home. We know it adds value as well, and the fact that we will never need to re-roof again is a definite advantage. Everyone within our organization, from the initial phone contact to the installation crew, was courteous and pleasant to work with. The install went smoothly and the crew kept the site clean from beginning to end. Everybody we have shown our Interlock roof to has seemed quite impressed also. We would (and in fact have already done so) recommend Interlock Roofing to others.

Excellent roof! Looks good! The installers were courteous and professional. Put the tarp all around the house and kept the site very clean. I was impressed with their super service. They bent over backward to please us. The A-Team of Roofing! When it rains, it is NOT any louder, and we are in a wind zone, and shingles have not blown off, and we have had the roof since 2008. The snow slides off, too! And the salesman knows his product and explains it well. It will add value to the house. Unlike asphalt, that's like tar and paper, and doesn't hold up. The Interlock Lifetime Roof is super durable!d Greg Weber the salesman, knows his product and explains it well. It will add value to the house. Review: May 17, 2017Completion: August 10, 2009

We purchased our roof in 2009 and as you can see from the pictures taken in May of 2017, our roof looks as new as the day we bought it. Here are the things we have noticed most about our Interlock Lifetime Roof over the last 8 years. It keeps our house much cooler in the summer than the asphalt roof we used to have. It really sheds snow, and the snow guards work great. We never need to use a snow rake. We love the durability and the curb appeal. Greg Weber our representative, who we were enthused to learn, is still with the company. When we saw him in 2009 he laid out all the variables in a professional way and our Interlock Roof has lived up to all of our expectations and promises he made. All companies promise results, service, and quality. Interlock delivers.

Review: May 16, 2017Completion: July 31, 2008

The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off. We are also in a wind tunnel area, and we have never lost an Interlock shingle, and we have had the roof for many years. We were so pleased with our Interlock roof that we put the same roof on our lake home in northern Wisconsin. We get a lot more snow up there and the Interlock’s snow-shedding performance capabilities are second to none on that roof, too!

I love the roof! It looks great, and the squirrels that we’re crawling all over my old asphalt roof slide right off it. The snow slides off, too. I hope to get some $500 referrals. The crew was terrific, hardworking, courteous, polite, and clean.

Drip, drip, drip. This is not a sound you want to hear at 3:30 am… in bed… coming from your attic… in the dead of winter. A quick peek in the attic confirmed my worst fears, the ice dam on the roof was allowing melted water to seep through the crappy asphalt shingles and into the house. We called a local contractor and had the ice dam removed, but this didn’t fix the underlying problem that our current roof was cheap and damaged. My wife and I moved into a beautiful three-story brick Tudor on Madison’s near west side in the fall of 06′. It was perfect in that it had been beautifully remodeled with gorgeous woodwork, marble, and stunning attention to detail, with the exception of the roof. We had decided that, barring any unforeseen circumstances, this was the house we were going to stay in until retirement, so why not invest in a metal roof. After a couple of weeks of research and interviewing, we settled on Interlock. Part of the choice was made on the quality of the product, and part was made on the salesmanship of the rep, Chuck. Work started and except for some problems with the weather, things progressed smoothly. We were especially impressed with the steps the crew took in regard to safety, and our stay-at-home neighbor told us about how exciting the crew was, “you’re definitely getting your money's worth,” was her exact quote. At the end of the job, the crew even emptied all the trash we had pulled out of the attic for us. Now that’s service! After everything is said and done, we’ve been able to cap off our gorgeous house with an equally gorgeous roof.

I had Interlock put on a beautiful red slate roof 17 years ago.The roof still looks beautiful. 5 years ago, I had them also re-roof my garage with the same type of slate. The roofs look gorgeous and I have no maintenance whatsoever.I get complements all the time. The guy whom I contracted with was named "Tim' but has since died. He was a really nice guy. Back in 2009, the roof was much cheaper. ( I actually paid more for the garage 5 years ago!) I am extremely happy with the roofs. The guys did a wonderful job, replacing rotted boards where necessary. They also told me about very cheap gutters I could buy at Menards instead of those ridiculously - priced "special" gutter systems. I bought them and they placed them on my buildings. This home will go to my daughter one day; I do not want her to have to lift a finger. Note that I had an asphalt roof previously. It lasted only 12 years. The shingles curled up under the sun and cracked. They looked terrible. I can honestly say that these metals roofs by Interlock are very much worth what you pay for them. They will last a lifetime with almost no maintenance. Instead of replacing a roof every 15 years and paying lots for asphalt or fiberglass, their metal roofs last very long and you will never have to re- roof again.

Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems: We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt. In fact, our neighbors lost many shingles in the last major wind storm, and our Interlock roof proved to be the high wind resistance product it is with all shingles intact. We love the fact it’s more reliable and has peace of mind knowing it has lots of longevity and will look brand new not only now but down the road. We also received a discount on our homeowner’s insurance. Overall, we were very satisfied with our sales representative Greg Weber, the company, the service, and the product.

In March 2017 we had an Interlock Lifetime Roof installed. Greg Weber, the salesman, was not pushy. We were very impressed with his salesmanship and the product. He also offered to have the Interlock product put on our wishing well in the front yard. That was something we really appreciated. The clean-up was excellent! Many neighbors and people who " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by the house have noticed the roof and asked a lot of questions. We have gotten lots of compliments!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Lake Shangrila Shores

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Lake Shangrila Shores, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Lake Shangrila Shores.

How does a metal roof handle Lake Shangrila Shores' heavy snow and freeze-thaw cycles?

Aluminum's smooth, slippery surface naturally sheds snow and ice—critical in a region that averages about 132 cm of snow annually with roughly 84 freeze-thaw days per year. Unlike asphalt shingles, which trap moisture and degrade through repeated freeze-thaw stress, Interlock's four-way interlocking panels prevent water infiltration at seams. The metal itself expands and contracts predictably without cracking or curling, and the lightweight design (the Slate installs at just 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural strain from snow load, unlike slate or tile. Snow guards can be added if desired for safety. You'll notice far fewer ice dams and leaks than with traditional materials.

Why won't my metal roof rust, and why does that matter in Wisconsin winters?

Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy, which contains no iron and therefore cannot rust—only aluminum oxidizes, creating an invisible, self-healing protective layer that regenerates when scratched. In regions with winter salt spray and humidity cycling (Lake Shangrila Shores receives about 743 mm of annual rainfall plus 132 cm of snow), this is a massive advantage over steel roofing, which corrodes from the inside out. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish is applied to both sides of every panel for extra salt-air protection and carries a 30-year warranty against corrosion-related chalking and fading. You're protected against the sneaky rust damage that silently weakens steel roofs in freeze-thaw climates.

What's the real lifespan of an Interlock roof, and what does the warranty actually cover?

Interlock's Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for you as the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—the problems that plague asphalt, wood, and traditional tile. The panels have been manufactured since 1998 and installed from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station, proving durability across extreme climates. If you sell your home, the warranty transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion, a significant resale advantage. This is the roof you buy once; you won't replace it due to material failure, unlike asphalt shingles that typically last 15–20 years in Wisconsin's 84 annual freeze-thaw days.

Will my metal roof stay put in Wisconsin wind and spring storms?

Yes—Interlock panels are warranted to resist sustained wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification, far exceeding Lake Shangrila Shores' typical daily-max gusts of about 17 km/h and recorded extremes near 95 km/h. The four-way interlocking system locks each panel to its neighbors on all sides, distributing wind load across the entire roof plane rather than relying on fasteners alone. This design has proven itself across decades of installation in coastal and high-altitude regions. Spring storms, nor'easters, and even microbursts pose no threat to properly installed Interlock. You'll sleep soundly knowing your roof won't lift, buckle, or separate.

How tough is a metal roof in a hailstorm, and can it affect my insurance costs?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4, the highest impact rating available—the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Because aluminum panels absorb hail impact without cracking or losing structural integrity (unlike asphalt, slate, or tile), many insurers recognize the reduced risk and offer discounts on homeowners policies. Claims for hail damage plummet on metal roofs compared to traditional materials. In Wisconsin's severe weather season, this durability directly translates to peace of mind and often lowers your annual premiums. Contact your insurance agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 rating—they'll likely offer a credit you won't find with asphalt.

Is a metal roof more expensive than asphalt, and will I recoup the cost?

The upfront cost is higher than asphalt shingles, but compare the full lifecycle: asphalt needs replacement every 15–20 years in Wisconsin's 84 annual freeze-thaw days and about 743 mm of annual rainfall, generating disposal costs and labor. Interlock is the last roof you'll install under the original owner's lifetime warranty, eliminating decades of replacement and maintenance expenses. You also save on repairs (asphalt curls and cracks; Interlock doesn't), potential water damage, and ice dam–related leaks. Resale value climbs measurably with a premium metal roof. Over 40–50 years—the timeframe most Wisconsin homeowners stay or sell—the total cost of ownership strongly favors Interlock, not counting energy savings from its reflective coating.

Does a metal roof actually reduce cooling costs, or is that marketing hype?

It's physics, not hype: energy-efficient Interlock colors achieve thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny profile), meaning they reflect the solar heat that asphalt absorbs and re-radiates into your home. In Lake Shangrila Shores, with about 2916 annual sunshine hours, this reflectance reduces attic and interior temperatures, lowering your air conditioning load during warm months. The Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms the energy performance independently. While Wisconsin winters are cold (mean temperature 5.9°C), the reflective coating doesn't hinder winter heating efficiency because winter sunlight angles are low. You gain cooling savings in late spring and early fall without penalty in winter.

Can my home's framing handle a metal roof, or do I need expensive reinforcement?

Almost certainly yes—no reinforcement needed. Interlock Slate installs at just 0.41 lb/sq ft, Shake at 0.58 lb/sq ft, and even the Mediterranean Tile profile (which replicates heavy clay tile) weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than the authentic tile it resembles. Most existing Wisconsin homes are framed to carry traditional asphalt shingles plus snow load (about 132 cm annually in your region), so adding a metal roof is actually removing weight from your structure. This lightness also means Interlock installs directly over your existing roof in many cases, avoiding costly tear-off and disposal. Your inspector or contractor will confirm, but structural concerns are rare—one of the clearest financial and practical advantages of aluminum.

How long does installation take, and can you install over my existing roof?

Installation timelines depend on roof complexity and weather, but metal roofing typically progresses faster than asphalt tear-offs because you often avoid demolition. Interlock's lightweight design (Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft) and four-way interlocking system allow direct installation over existing asphalt shingles in many cases, provided the deck is sound and properly ventilated. This saves time, reduces labor costs, and eliminates the landfill impact of tear-off waste. In Wisconsin's wet springs and snowy winters, working over an existing roof also means no weather delays exposing your bare deck. Your local Interlock installer, serving the region since 2001, will assess your specific roof during an on-site estimate and confirm the fastest, most cost-effective path forward.

What style options does Interlock offer, and can I match my home's architecture?

Interlock manufactures five profiles—Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile—all with the same four-way interlocking aluminum construction and lifetime warranty. Whether your Lake Shangrila Shores home has traditional colonial trim, rustic cottage charm, or contemporary lines, you'll find a profile that complements its character. Each is available in multiple colors backed by the 30-year Alunar coating warranty against fading and chalking. The profiles differ in visual texture and weight (Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft vs. Tile at 0.59 lb/sq ft), but all deliver the same durability, wind resistance up to 120 mph, hail rating (UL 2218 Class 4), and ICC-ES compliance (ESR-1790). Your Interlock installer can show samples to help you choose.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Lake Shangrila Shores’s climate?

Yes. Lake Shangrila Shores averages about 132 cm of snow, 743 mm of rain, roughly 84 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 95 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
